Jan 3, 2001
Websterville,
VT---Mr. Chris Pierson, formally of Miguels Stowe Away, joins Highland
Sugarworks, Inc. as Vice President of Sales. Chris spent the last
ten years as President of Miguels, running daily operations and
building their chips and salsa division. Chris will be responsible
for all aspects of sales for Highland. His responsibilities include
managing the rep/broker network and distribution channels.
His love for
Vermont maple syrup is evident in that; he too throws on the wool
pants and cap to sugar in the spring. Chris is former President
of the Vermont Specialty Food Association, and currently sits as
Vice-Chair of the Lake Champlain Citizen's Advisory Committee. Chris
is a long time colleague and friend of owners, Judy and Jim MacIsaac.
They are thrilled to have Chris on the Highland team. Chris lives
in Vermont with his two sons.
Highland Sugarworks
was founded in 1986, and is owned by Judy and Jim MacIsaac. On a
farm in Starksboro, Vermont, the MacIsaac family runs a 7,500-tap
sugaring operation; the company is based in Websterville. In addition
to their own maple production, Highland Sugarworks is one of the
states largest maple packers. Highland Sugarworks' Let's Make Pancake's
Kit was a finalist in the National Association of Specialty Food
2000 product awards.
